Ever wondered what the classic Wu-Tang Mystery of Chessboxin’ video would look like if it was given the lego treatment? Well thanks to some cat named Davo you needn’t wonder any longer. I thought the endless puzzles in lego Batman were time consuming enough but damn!

Nobody thought the Cincinnati Bengals would lead their division this late in the season, and a big reason has been the inspired play of Chad Ochocinco. Along with Cedric Benson, 85 has been instrumental in the Bengals success (and single-handedly keeping my fantasy football team alive). In the preseason, HBO filmed Bengals camp for their show Hard Knocks. While the show in itself is great, editing out everyone else except the former Chad Johnson is a glorious and ingenious move. Child please.

The new FELT project is eagerly anticipated at R&S, and Rhymesayers have released this latest video featuring the whole FELT 3 gang: Slug, Murs and Aesop Rock. A little look behind the scenes in Aesop’s adopted home of San Fran.
“Ninja turtles are to pizza what FELT is to Thai food” – drunken Murs

Dynamite new track from my boy Brother Ali. His new album, entitled “Us”, drops September 22nd and you can get your pre-order on here.
Ant laces the production and Chuck D even makes an appearance. Can’t wait to hear those two on the same track.
Look for Ali and Evidence in a town near you on the “Fresh Air Tour“.

Shout out to Kutos for hipping me to the good Reverend. I’d go to church everyday if this dude was running the show.

Whenever Mike Tyson comes on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, it is must see TV. Joining Jimmy to promote his new documentary “Tyson” (an awesome flick by the way, go see it), Mike waxes on trying to hurt Evander Holyfield, his original plan for his face tattoo and his new outlook on life. It’s a great interview and showcases a friendly, happy side of Iron Mike that was rarely seen in the past.
Mike is looking a little rotund, so any comeback talk woud be way of base. But it’s great to see one of the greatest athletes of all-time getting himself together.
And if you have never seen Mike Tyson on Jimmy Kimmel, watch the videos below for all you need to know:

Check out this great clip from last night’s Rockets-Jazz game. Ron Ron gets so amped up he almost spits his fake chiclet out… but makes a great save. Ernie, Kenny and Charles couldn’t get enough of this clip during halftime, and I don’t blame them.
I know Ron is “street”, but why rock Billy Bob teeth when you make millions and your own team employs a dentist?
I know why. Because Ron Artest is an anti-dentite.

Ophir Kutiel, a 28-year-old who performs under the name Kutiman (a tribute to the legendary Fela Kuti), has completely blown the doors off the traditional model of making music. Kutiman has created a seven-song EP entitled Thru You that is as much of a treat visually as it is sonically. By finding, splicing, editing, chopping and combining various user-generated YouTube clips, Kutiel has not just created a musical journey that is incredibly satisfying, but he has also paved the way for a new type of open-source music making that is practically limitless in its application. He has connected into the soul that feeds the Internet (users) and shown a level of imagination that can only propel other musicians to new heights. Who would have guessed that all those various clips could be combined to form the ultimate musical Voltron?
Jon Newton of P2P.net gave the project some of the highest praise possible for any 21st century musician:
”absolutely, 100% guaranteed to inspire artists around the world to produce art which has never been seen before, and never could have been seen without the Internet.”
While watching any of Kutiman’s tracks on the Thru You website, you can click the credits button to get a complete list of all the contributors to that particular track and you can then view the originals. Once you look at the o.g. clips layer by layer, you really get an understanding of the vision behind this project. Don’t forget to check track eight, as it features Kutiman explaining how he built Thru You and shows some of the construction in action.
The viral power of this Thru You is also amazing, as it was only a month ago that Kutiman emailed 20 of his friends to tell them about the finished project. Next thing he knew, his videos were all creeping close to a million views.
For further insight into this open-source opus, read Timothy Kerr’s great piece from the Huffington Post about Kutiman, Thru You and the revolution that will be computerized.
And if you were as blown away by Thru You as I was, spread the knowledge.

Adam Waddell is so lucky they aren’t picking all his chicklets out of the hardwood floor. I know college players play with more “intensity” than NBA players, but this dude needs to either chill out or practice his two-handed rim hang before he MDK’s himself on the court.
After about seven viewings, I’m actually quite impressed with his form on the backflip. He’d be a better gymnast than this guy…

I was watching this game last night, and as soon as Richardson started to slow down to prep for takeoff you could see Lebron swooping in for the kill. How many easy layups/dunks has Lebron erased this year?
This also came at a pivotal point in the game, with PHX down two in the 4th. Cavs took over after this play.
The Suns are finished. I love Nash, but the Suns almost deserve to be one of the biggest disappointments ever due to their stupid and cheap owner trading away all their draft picks over the years. You don’t think this team could use Rajon Rondo and Luol Deng? Suckers.
Lebron is the truth.

Here’s a quote from Blazer teammate and fellow Spaniard, Sergio Rodriguez:
“He couldn’t breathe, and that scared himself, but he was OK,” Rodriguez said.
Now I’m not saying Ariza’s foul wasn’t reckless and unnecessary. It clearly was. But did they really have to put Fernandez in a neck brace and give every fan in attendance (and viewer at home) the impression that he had a neck/spinal injury?
Word out of Blazer Nation is that Rudy has a bruised chest/side and that when he arrived at Blazers practice he asked coach Nate McMillan when he could play. Must be really hurt.
Judging from his reaction while he’s down after the foul (looks like he’s grasping for air), Sergio’s quote that he was out of breath and the fact that his injury amounts to a bruise and that he will be playing by the end of the week, I have a feeling Rudy might not be the toughest guy on the planet. He has a bruise and got the wind knocked out of him.
Yet he needed a neck brace.
Can’t really blame him. His countrymen have mastered the art of this.
Blazer Fan, talk all you want about how big Tuesday’s victory was. How it could give you the momentum to stun 24 and the Lake Show in the playoffs. Or how Greg Oden is going to revolutionize the league. And then, remember this…

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is less than a week away from release, and R&S is more than a little excited for Zach Snyder’s interpretation of Alan Moore’s spectacular graphic novel, The Watchmen.
For those that don’t know, The Watchmen is one of the most critically acclaimed graphic novels ever written. It was one of the first comics to explore the dark side of superheroes, and it completely blows the doors off the traditional superhero concept. Alan Moore really set out to do something different with this one, and you can listen to him talk about his motivation and inspiration for the book here.
Zach Snyder killed it with his visually stunning adaptation of “300“, and from all the trailers I have seen, The Watchmen is going to be no exception.
The movie comes out this Friday and will also be available in glorious IMAX.

From yesterday’s Lakers practice. DJ Mbenga tries to give Chris Mihm some sweet chin music, Mihm doesn’t like it and then Mbenga tries to go all Ron Artest on ‘em. Good thing The Machine was there to settle everyone down.
If these two giants played with this kind of fire in real games they wouldn’t be rooted to the end of the bench and Internet idiots everywhere wouldn’t be talking about how the Lakers need to trade for Shaq in order to win this year.

Joaquin is a joker. His hip-hop odyssey is a farce; he’s a disgrace to the mic and the movement. I love it when he tells Dave he’d like to come back and perform some hip-hop, to which Dave replies, “We’ll keep you in the rolodex.”

So the NBA finally decided to listen to Bill Simmons and implement a game of horse during All-Star Weekend. Never mind the fact that they sold out and renamed it G-E-I-C-O, it should be an entertaining event (and will be infinitely better than the stupid Skills Challenge). However, the NBA really screwed up when picking the contestants. Kevin Love might be the best trick-shot maker this side of Harlem and he won’t be competing. Check his insane highlights (never mind the cracked out announcer, dude needs to chill):
Behind the back 3? Kick shot 3? What? How about full court shots:
Maybe he declined an NBA invite because Stern and his band of merry tards forgot to add him to the Rook V Soph roster, even though he is one of the best rookies in the league and will probably finish the season averaging a double-double. Or maybe they didn’t invite him because no one else would stand a chance.
Except for ‘Sheed.

For all those who love the storytelling element of hip-hop, here’s a real treat. Kenzo Digital has put together ”City of God’s Son“, an “experimental hip-hop opera” which combines an ill soundtrack with a complete visual art dimension (which will be unveiled in NYC this summer). This is no “Carmen: A Hip Hopera“. Here’s what Kenzo had to say about his visionary project:
“City of God’s Son” is an experimental hip-hop opera starring Nas, Jay Z, Ghostface, Biggie Smalls, Raekwon, Samuel Jackson, Delroy Lindo, and Laurence Fishburne. It is a crime drama/coming of age tale of three fictitious characters growing up in a crime ridden city in a jungle. This project explores the icon of the gangster in modern media, and weaves musical history and gangster film history into an operatic music based story of brotherhood and survival. An homage to 90’s New York hip-hop, “City of God’s Son” is the redefinition of the remix. Featuring legendary soul singer Joe Bataan.
You can download the one hour audio track for free here.
Listen to it straight through, it’s dynamite. Joe Bataan kills it as the narrator.
And if you are in the Big Apple this summer, be sure to check it out live. Support innovation.

Watch for Punch Out to be re-born on the Wii on March 31, 2009.

I know this video has been around the block, but I really think Arizona is going to win on Sunday and I think Adrian Wilson will play a huge role. He is often overlooked as one of the NFL’s premier safeties, especially when he has to share the field with Polamalu (check out 43′s sick workout here). He’s been a Card forever, stayed with the team through all the rough times and is one of sport’s freakiest athletes. Don’t sleep on the Cards and don’t sleep on Adrian.
And check out this video of the evolution of an incredible painting of Adrian, which was commissioned by fellow Cardinal and Auburn alum Karlos Dansby.

Beat boxing is the most underrated element of hip-hop, an integral piece of the pie that enabled wanna-be MCs to practice their rhymes in any situation and without their trusty ghetto-blasters. All that was needed was some saliva, mad mouth control, rhythm and imagination.
Joe Driscoll has mastered that mouth control—as well as a few other instruments along the way. He’s a musical renaissance man that fuses multiple genres into one unified sound that is sure to blow you away. His first LP, “Origin Myth” is top-notch and he is building up a good cult following in the UK and around his hometown of Syracuse, NY.
Peep this dude, and support his skills here.
